THE CHURCH TENETS

THE BIBLE: We believe that both Old and New Testaments constitute the divinely inspired word of God, inerrant in the originals. We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. That the Bible is infallible in its declaration, final in its authority, comprehensive and all-sufficient in its provisions (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21)

THE ONE TRUE GOD: We believe in one God existing eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the existence of the One True God, Elohim, and maker of the whole universe; indefinable, but revealed as Triune Godhead— Father, Son and Holy Spirit- Omniscient and Omnipresent (Gen. 1:1; Matt. 3:16-17; 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).

THE SAVIOUR: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.  We believe that man’s need of a Saviour has been met in the person of Jesus Christ, because of His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, resurrection and ascension; His abiding and second coming (Matt. 1:2; Jn. 4:42; Phil. 2:6-11).

MAN’S DEPRAVED NATURE: We believe that “all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and are subject to eternal punishment; and need repentance and regeneration (Gen. 3:1-19); Is. 53:6). We believe that man is totally depraved in that of himself he is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.

REPENTANCE, JUSTIFICATION, SANCTIFICATION: We believe that all men have to repent of and confess their sins before God, and believe in the vicarious death of Jesus Christ to be justified before God. We believe in the sanctification of the believer through the working of the Holy Spirit and in God’s gift of eternal life to the believer (Lk. 15:7; Ac. 2: 38; Rom. 4:25; 5:16; 1 Cor. 1:30; 1Thess 4: 3).

THE ARK OF COVENANT OF GOD (APOTI ERI): We believe in the Ark of Covenant of God (Apoti Eri) which is equally known as God. Ark of God is a name or a title given by God Himself. Num 19:20- end and the Covenant was established in Ex 20:3-26, Ex 34:4&5, Ex 31:18, 24:12, 32:15&16, Deut 4:13-14

THE SACRAMENTS OF BAPTISM: We believe in the water baptism of believers, symbolizing the believer's union in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in the Sacrament of Baptism by immersion as a testimony of a convert who has attained a responsible age of about 12 years. (Infants and children are not baptized but are dedicated to the Lord

THE SACRAMENTS LORD’S SUPPER: We believe in the observance of the Lord's Supper commemorating the sacrifice of our Saviour for all mankind. ). We believe in the participation in the Sacrament by members who are  full member according to the instruction of Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase;such participant must have been baptised (Matt. 28:19-2-; Mk. 16:16; Lk. 22:19-20).

THE  GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR THE EDIFICATION,EXHORTATION AND COMFOR OF THE CHURCHWHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST.
The  gifts of the Holy Spirit are found in 1 Cor 12: 8-11. Christians who possess these gifts have supernatural abilities. Their use helps to build up, encourage and strengthen the church, a people in living union with Christ. The Holy Spirit empowers people to serve. Also he gives special gifts to help the Church. These gifts are extraordinary in their outworking. The early church in the Bible needed such gifts and today, we also need them to help us. Spiritual gifts are not only in use today in "Spiritual Churches" but also becoming widely used
Useful Scriptures: 1 Cor 12:4-28, 1 Cor 13:9-12, Gal 5:22-23

UNEQUALLY YOKE: We believe the life of the believer is to be separated from the world by consistent conduct before God and man, and is to be in the world as a life-giving light.

TITHES AND OFFERING: We believe in tithing and in the giving of free-will offerings towards the cause of carrying forward the Kingdom of God. We believe that God blesses a cheerful giver (Gen. 14:18-20; 10-22; Mal. 3:6-10; Matt. 23:23; Ac 20:35; 1 Cor. 16:1-3; 2 Cor. 9:1-9).

DIVINE HEALING: We believe that the healing of sickness and disease is provided for God’s people in the atonement. The Church is, however, not opposed to soliciting the help of qualified medical practitioners (2 Kgs 20:20-22; Matt. 9:12; Lk. 10:34; Col. 4:14).

NEXT LIFE: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved - they that are saved to the resurrection of life and the unsaved to the

resurrection of damnation (Mk. 13: 26; Dan. 12:2; Jn. 5: 29; Ac. 1:11 10:42; Rom. 2:7-11; 6:23).

SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST: We believe in the personal and visible and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

1:1.      Membership of the Church is open to those who accept and believe in the Beliefs of the Church set out in Clause 3.2 of the Memorandum. On a confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, those wishing to become Church Members will be encouraged to be baptized by immersion.

1.2.      Church Members are encouraged to be regular at the celebrations of the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Table is open to all Christian people who may be present when the ordinance is administered.

1.3.      Church Members are encouraged to get to know other Church Members so that wherever possible to celebrate with one another and sympathy with one another in times of stress, trial or sorrow and in all ways attempt to fulfill the law of Christ in carrying one another’s burdens.  The elders should be informed of cases of sickness or distress among the Church Members.

1.4.      Church Members will watch over one another according to Scripture. Sadly there may be times when Church Members are involved in serious lapses of moral standards which clearly contravene biblical teaching - for example lying, stealing, violence, drunkenness and sexual immorality. Church Members will watch over each other and address such behaviour so as to encourage one another in the development of our Christian faith. Where repentance is sincere no further action will be taken. Should such behaviour persist the matter will be brought to the attention of Advisory Board Meeting or equivalent body in each branches where the person’s membership may be withdrawn. The purpose of Church discipline is two folds. Firstly there is a hope that the action will enable the person to come to genuine repentance; and secondly the action is a protection for the rest of the Church.

1.5.      Church Members will meet together on Sundays and in home groups, as they may have opportunity. We will stir up each other to love and good works; endeavouring by all means to keep the unity of the Holy Spirit in the bond of peace.
